1. What is a Youth Bank grant

If you are aged 15 to 23, have a great idea for a project and there is a YouthBank in your area, you may be eligible for a small grant. YouthBank funds lots of different groups.  Examples range from environmental projects, community beautification projects, cultural and sporting events, trainings and workshops, ecological projects, book publications, talent contests, and theatrical performances. For example, the Ararat Youth Bank funded a series of free debates on the themes of freedom of expression and political conflicts. The debates were attended by more than 200 young people from 11 villages.

2. How do I apply for money

If you contact your local YouthBank about applying for a grant they will give you an application form.  On the form you write details of your project idea and a breakdown of how much it will cost.  Grant awards vary and the maximum amount is $500.  If the YouthBank committee think your project is good they will ask you to come along to an informal interview so they can find out more about your idea.  After the interview the committee will make a group decision and then let you know as soon as possible if you have been successful.
